| For the same reason as for any other piercing - because you get a needle pushed through and end up with a wound that takes quite some time to heal. Because of the position of your belly button thejewelry tends to move around which makes it one of the piercings to take longest to heal. You also have to keep it clean, even after the healing process. Some people also have allergic reactions to the jewellery used. Best thing to do is go to a professional piercer who uses properly sterilised needles and jewellery. They usually provide you with fact sheets and instructions on how to avoid infections as much as possible. |
